Start with the UAE entity
Identify the entity that will serve you, rather than assuming every service under a familiar global brand uses the same licence. In Dubai outside DIFC, start with VARA’s public register. For a DIFC or ADGM entity, check the DFSA or FSRA route instead. A provider’s business address alone does not establish its permissions.
VARA distinguishes a full licence from in-principle approval. Its public register explains that an IPA does not permit the applicant to start virtual-asset operations or serve clients. Use that distinction before comparing prices or depositing funds.
Build the transaction plan
Choose the asset, spending limit and custody arrangement before opening an account. Record the fiat deposit method, trading fee, spread, withdrawal charge and supported withdrawal network. Compare the total cost of receiving the asset in your intended wallet, rather than the advertised trading fee alone.
Complete the provider check linked below. Read the customer agreement for the entity serving your residence and confirm whether the exact service is available to you. A licence does not guarantee an asset’s price, uninterrupted withdrawals or recovery after a transaction mistake.
Make a small first transfer
Enable strong account authentication and verify the receiving address on a trusted device. Confirm the asset and network at both ends, including any required memo or destination tag. Send a small test amount where fees make that practical, and verify receipt before increasing the amount.
Save the order confirmation, fees, transaction hash and wallet addresses. Keep recovery phrases offline and private. An exchange support agent or supposed regulator should never need your wallet recovery phrase.
Sources & scope
Official sources support the jurisdiction context. The working checklists are CryptoGov’s editorial preparation suggestions, not an exhaustive application or filing requirement. Confirm the rules and your circumstances before acting.
