Verifying a crypto platform serving France

CryptoGov Research Desk · Sources reviewed 1 November 2026

01 / LOCAL CONTEXT

Read the whitelist entry

The AMF’s whitelist presents authorised providers and their activities. Search the exact legal company named in the customer agreement, then inspect the activity details. The AMF also makes clear that an authorisation is not an invitation to invest or a guarantee against loss.

For a provider based in another EU state, establish its home authority and the relevant cross-border basis. Preserve the register result and agreement together. If an advertisement uses a group name while the contract names a different company, resolve the relationship before depositing.

02 / WORKING CHECKLIST

Retire outdated evidence

A screenshot of a former PSAN registration can be historically accurate but insufficient for a current decision. France’s transition ended on 1 July 2026. Ask the provider to identify the current permission relevant to your service, and verify that answer independently.

Check whether the domain and contact route match the official evidence. Do not use a telephone number supplied in an unsolicited message to verify the message itself. Record any disagreement between the platform’s claim and the register, and postpone funding until the discrepancy is explained.

03 / WORKING CHECKLIST

Check the service behind the account

Identify the entities responsible for fiat deposits, custody, execution and complaints. Ask what changes if you activate staking, derivatives or another optional feature. A platform’s permission for one activity should not become an assumption about every service offered under its branding.

Keep a dated checklist and review it after material terms change. Include the complaint route and a copy of the withdrawal terms so you are not searching for them during a dispute. Register checks reduce uncertainty about legal identity; they do not replace assessment of asset risk, custody arrangements or your own security.

Sources & scope

Official sources support the jurisdiction context. The working checklists are CryptoGov’s editorial preparation suggestions, not an exhaustive application or filing requirement. Confirm the rules and your circumstances before acting.
