Read the destination tag on an exchange deposit.

How it works
XRP is native to the XRP Ledger. A custodial service can use one receiving address for many customers and assign destination tags to their accounts. The ledger destination identifies the account receiving the payment. The tag gives the service an additional instruction for its own books.
Worked example
Two customers receive the same exchange address and different tags. If one copies the other’s tag, a successful ledger payment can still be misallocated. Compare both fields with the instructions for the specific deposit.
What to verify
Retain the validated transaction and exchange credit separately. For a missing credit, the transaction hash, amount, address and tag let the service investigate.
