NEAR Protocol (NEAR)

Read the permissions attached to an application key.

CoinMarketCap rank #17 · 1 November 2026

How it works

A NEAR account can have several access keys. A full-access key can authorise account actions broadly. A function-call key can be restricted to a receiver and named methods, with an allowance for transaction fees.

Worked example

A game asks a player to add a key for repeated moves. Compare its receiver and permitted methods with the game contract. An empty method list grants access to all methods on that receiver, so it deserves a closer look.

What to verify

Inspect the keys currently attached to the account. Removing an application from a browser does not establish that the on-chain key has been deleted.
