Read a wrapping receipt
Use a worked invoice to distinguish wrapping ETH from paying a supplier.
ACADEMY LAB 01 · READ-ONLY EXERCISE
The invoice
A supplier expects 2 WETH. The buyer sends you a successful Ethereum receipt. In this simulated receipt, the destination is WETH9, the value is 2 ETH, and the Deposit event identifies the buyer. Can you mark the invoice paid?
Check your reasoning
Keep the invoice open. The buyer has wrapped their own ETH. Nothing in this receipt credits the supplier. A successful execution tells you the requested operation completed. You still need to identify that operation and its beneficiary.
The second receipt
In the next example, the transaction destination is still WETH9 and its native value is zero. The contract emits Transfer from the buyer to the agreed supplier address for 2000000000000000000 raw units. WETH uses 18 decimals. Calculate the token amount and identify the two addresses that should match your invoice records.
Check the second receipt
The amount is 2 WETH. Match the emitting contract to the expected asset and the recipient in the event to the supplier. Also check network, successful execution and your confirmation policy before recording settlement.
