Who had the votes at the snapshot?
Reconstruct two voting checkpoints from a fictional UNI ledger, then decide what evidence would prove a vote was cast.
ACADEMY LAB 03 · GOVERNANCE
A proposal freezes voting weight at block 100
In this fictional ledger, Mira holds 80 UNI and delegates to Sam. Sam holds 20 UNI and delegates to himself. Neither address receives votes from anyone else. Both delegations are recorded before block 100. At block 105 Mira transfers 30 UNI to Jo, who has never delegated. At block 110 Sam opens the proposal.
Work out the two numbers
How many votes does Sam represent at block 100? How many does he represent after block 105? Assume there are no other changes.
Show the ledger
At the snapshot Sam represents 100 votes, including 80 from Mira. After the transfer he represents 70: Mira’s remaining 50 plus his own 20. Jo holds 30 tokens and has contributed no delegated votes. If the proposal uses the block 100 checkpoint, Sam’s weight on that proposal is still 100.
One piece of evidence is missing
An analyst writes that Sam cast 100 votes in favour. Does the ledger support that sentence?
Check the claim
The ledger establishes voting power. It contains no ballot. To publish the claim, check the proposal ID, voter address, vote choice and recorded weight in the governor’s voting record. Record the transaction carrying the vote.
